south of the Cove, is where the Herbertson Glacier meets the Ross Sea.
Anoxic
pits happen all along the coast. Notice the pile of dead scallops
in the low part of the seafloor here.

Herbertson sediments resemble
Downstream Delta sediments in their size composition. This makes some
sense, if you remember that a glacier is essentially a frozen river...
